New Volunteering Opportunities at MSDS Marine

Home 5 News 5 New Volunteering Opportunities at MSDS Marine

MSDS Marine endeavours to provide volunteer opportunities during our projects where new skills can be learnt or existing skills developed, these opportunities can be for members of the public, early career professionals or maritime archaeologists looking to broaden their experience. Volunteering at MSDS Marine will give you the opportunity to work alongside our archaeology professionals and learn new skills in a supportive, friendly environment.

As such MSDS Marine are excited to announce new volunteering opportunities this summer. Historic England have funded MSDS Marine to engage with non-traditional audiences with protected wreck sites and wider maritime heritage; through fifty pop events. You can find out more about the wider project here.

If you like meeting new people, getting stuck in and being part of a team then the pop events are for you. MSDS Marine are taking their outreach trailer (the Heritage Hive) out on tour. Confirmed dates are listed on our website, but we are aiming to attend 50 events this year!

We are looking for people to support our team at these events, setting up the trailer, engaging with the public through: finds handling displays, operating VR headsets and helping lead children’s activities. It is a brilliant opportunity to learn more about our maritime heritage, which we will teach you to share with others.

If you are interested and would like to find out more we will be holding two volunteering discovery sessions in June:

  • 13th June 3-4pm
  • 13th June 7-8pm

To book a space (to help ensure we get enough biscuits ready) please email info@MSDSmarine.co.uk
