Climate Change, Heritage and Sandwich Bay

Home 5 News 5 Climate Change, Heritage and Sandwich Bay

Read the latest issue of The Archaeologist magazine to find out more about our work on the intertidal wrecks at Sandwich Bay, Kent and how they are threatened by climate change. The article discusses the changing environment of the Sandwich coast, the nature of the wrecks, and how this precious archaeological resource is at risk from the effects of warming seas and increasingly intense storm activity.

The release of this issue of The Archaeologist from the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists, all about climate change and the historic environment, coincides with the build up to the launch of the Climate Heritage Network in Edinburgh this Thursday and Friday (24th & 25th October).

MSDS Marine fully endorse the Climate Heritage Network and are proud to have signed the networks Memorandum of Understanding. The Climate Heritage Network will be dedicated to tackling the effects of climate change on the historic environment and encouraging the heritage sector to engage in climate action and discussion.
