MSDS Marine are delighted to again be the UK Project Managers for the #Rooswijk1740 Project. Traces of the Netherlands’ rich maritime history can be found all over the world. They include wrecks of the many ships that belonged to the Dutch East India Company (VOC), the West India Company (WIC) and the various Admiralties. The Dutch State regards these shipwrecks as its property. As the wreck is in British waters, the UK and the Netherlands work closely together to manage the wreck site. It is considered shared cultural heritage. MSDS Marine were first contracted in 2016 by the Rijksdienst Voor Cultureel Erfgoed (RCE), the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands, as the diving and survey contractor. The 2018 field season is now underway with diving taking place on the wreck and a series of open days planned. The first two open days will be held on the 11th and 12th August in Ramsgate and will be an opportunity to see material recovered this season.
